The government may end in a foreign funding case, the former justice said

 

Former Supreme Court Justice Shaikh Usmani has said that if illegal funding against PTI is proved, then 2018 elections will be declared illegal and the government will end.

Talking to Samaa TV anchor person Nadeem Malik, Justice (retd) Shaiq Usmani said that in the last elections, the PTI had one seat and the main reason was lack of money. When the 2013 elections took place, we saw that the PTI had a lot of money and they continued to use it. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

"Obviously, this funding did not come from within the country because donors within the country give funds to the party that is likely to come to power and the PTI had no such possibility," he said. So all this money has come from outside.

Explaining his position, Justice Shaiq Usmani said that it was not wrong for money to come from outside if it was done legally. There is nothing wrong with Pakistanis living abroad wanting to fund a party in Pakistan. But if the source of the fund is illegal and it is not known where it came from, then it is a big threat to the party.

What are the options of PTI?

According to Justice Shaiq Usmani, if the PTI clarifies the sources of funding and it is legal funding, then the matter is over, but the PTI cannot even explain the sources of funding. PTI Finance Secretary Akbar S. Babar had also filed the case because he himself did not understand where the funds were coming from. Now the PTI has also replied to the Election Commission that the money has come through agents.

The opposition alleges that Indian citizens and a Jewish company also funded the PTI. In this regard, Justice Shaikh Usmani said, "If this proves to be true, then the 2018 election will be declared illegal." The government will end and the PTI will dissolve. No court will tolerate a party that came to power with illegal funding.

The PTI put 'illegal funding' on agents

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has admitted that two agents appointed in the United States on the instructions of Imran Khan have provided illegal funding to the party.

The PTI has been holding the foreign funding case pending for a long time by setting up legal barriers, but in recent days, with the announcement of opposition protests, the proceedings on the case have intensified.

In the past, the PTI has been claiming in its replies to the Election Commission that the party has not received any illegal funding, but in the recent response, the party's stance has weakened.

In a reply submitted to the Election Commission, the PTI said that on the directive of Imran Khan, two agendas for funding were deployed in the United States and they were given clear instructions regarding funding. Now, if they provided illegal funding instead of following these instructions, the PTI would not be held responsible.

Sama Digital has a copy of the reply submitted by PTI. In it, the party has acquitted itself of the "deeds" of the agents, saying that all the rules were explained to them on the occasion of giving them the duty of funding and these agents have submitted affidavits saying that they have somehow Did not provide illegal funding.

Akbar S. Babar, a close friend of Imran Khan and the party's founding leader, filed a foreign funding case against the PTI with the Election Commission in 2014. It alleges that the PTI hid funding accounts from the Election Commission in which money came from abroad. During the scrutiny of the Election Commission, the SBP confirmed the allegation and said that the PTI has 23 accounts.

The PTI then took the position that it would submit the details of these 23 accounts to the Election Commission but a copy should not be given to the petitioner but the counsel for the petitioner (Akbar S. Babar) should see these details during the proceedings of the scrutiny committee. Will be allowed.
