According to local sources, dozens of armed members of the Houthi militia stormed the mosque during Friday prayers and killed the mosque's imam and preacher, Shawqi Jaber Muhammad Rafan, in front of worshipers.
Local news websites reported that Houthi thugs first indiscriminately opened fire on worshipers and then reached the imam and shot him directly in the chest. He was killed for continuing to distribute food items to poor families.
